Location is your choice

“Near me” asks your browser for permission to use your location. Coordinates stay in the current browser session and only sort venues by approximate distance. Comedy Index does not send your location to a server or save it.

Optional analytics

If you choose “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics (linked to our Firebase project) measures visits, popular pages, referral websites, browser/device information, approximate geography and actions such as using filters or opening ticket links. Analytics cookies distinguish visits and expire after up to 180 days. Google receives technical request information when analytics is enabled; see its privacy policy below.

No Google Analytics scripts or requests load before you opt in. “No thanks” keeps analytics off. You can change your choice or withdraw consent using “Analytics preferences” in the footer. Your preference is stored locally for 180 days. Declining does not limit the directory.

We exclude search text, URL query strings, contact names, email addresses, messages and precise location from analytics events. Search terms still appear in shareable page URLs, so avoid entering private information. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. We load no third-party fonts or map embeds.

Hosting and external links

Google Firebase serves this website and may process technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure it. See Google’s privacy policy. Ticket pages, Instagram, venue websites, and Google Maps open only when you follow their links and have their own privacy practices.

Correction requests and contact messages

If you submit a request, we store your message, the relevant listing, any source link, and the name or email you choose to provide in a private Google Firestore inbox. Email is optional for corrections and required for feature inquiries so we can respond about your request. These details are never displayed publicly or added to marketing lists. A random identifier in your browser session helps prevent repeated submissions; it is created only for this request feature.

Comedian and venue profiles summarize publicly available professional information. We link to the sources and do not publish private contact details.
